THE PREPARATION

STAND and SING the Entry Hymn

At the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, every tongue confess him king of glory now; 'tis the Father's pleasure we should call him Lord, who from the beginning was the mighty word. At his voice creation sprang at once to sight, all the angel faces, all the hosts of light, thrones and dominations, stars upon their way, all the heavenly orders, in their great array.

Humbled for a season, to receive a name from the lips of sinners unto whom he came, faithfully he bore it spotless to the last, brought it back victorious, when from death he passed: Bore it up triumphant with its human light, through all ranks of creatures, to the central height, to the throne of Godhead, to the Father's breast; filled it with the glory of that perfect rest.

Brothers, this Lord Jesus
shall return again,
with his Father's glory,
with his angel train;
for all wreaths of empire
meet upon his brow,
and our hearts confess him
King of glory now.

Priest: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

ALL: Amen

PENANCE AND RECONCILIATION

The Priest or Deacon introduces the confession

Priest: Jesus said, Before you offer your gift at the Altar, go and be reconciled. As brothers and sisters in God’s family, we ask God for forgiveness.

Priest: God our Father, we come to you in sorrow for our sins;

Lord have mercy

ALL: Lord have mercy

Priest: When we have not loved our neighbour as ourselves;

Christ have mercy

ALL: Christ have mercy

Priest: God be gracious unto us and bless us;

And make your face to shine upon us

The Priest says the Absolution:

The almighty and merciful Lord grant you+pardon and remission

from all your sins, time for amendment of life,

And the grace and comfort of his Holy Spirit. ALL: Amen.

STAND TO SING the Gloria in Excelsis

Glory to God in the highest,

And peace to his people on earth.

Lord God, heavenly King,

Almighty God and Father,

We worship you, we give you thanks,

We praise you for your glory.

Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father,

Lord God, Lamb of God,

You take away the sin of the world,

Have mercy on us;

You are seated at the right hand of the Father:

Receive our prayer.

For you alone are the Holy One;

You alone are the Lord;

You alone are the Most High,

Remain STANDING for the Collect.

Priest: Let us pray

After a short silence, the priest says the Collect (special prayer) for today

Almighty God,
who at this time
taught the hearts of your faithful people
by sending to them the light of your Holy Spirit:
grant us by the same Spirit to have a right judgement in all things,
and evermore to rejoice in his holy comfort;
through the merits of Christ Jesus our Saviour,
who is alive and reigns with you in the unity of the Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.

Priest: Christ is our peace,

He has reconciled us to God in one body by the Cross

We meet in his name and share his peace.

The peace of the Lord be always with you.

OFFERTORY

SING the Offertory HYMN

The collection is taken. The wine, bread and collection are taken to the altar

by members of the congregation. The Altar is prepared for Communion

All hail the power of Jesu's name; let angels prostrate fall; bring forth the royal diadem to crown him Lord of all. Crown him, ye morning stars of light, who fixed this floating ball; now hail the strength of Israel's might, and crown him Lord of all. Crown him, ye martyrs of your God, who from his altar call; praise him whose way of pain ye trod, and crown him Lord of all.

Ye seed of Israel's chosen race, ye ransomed of the fall, hail him who saves you by his grace, and crown him Lord of all. THE EUCHARISTIC PRAYER (Prayer of Thanksgiving)

Priest: The Lord be with you.

Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord

WE ALL SAY The Lord’s Prayer:

Priest: As our Saviour taught us, so we pray.

ALL: Our Father, who art in heaven,

Hallowed be thy name;

thy kingdom come;

thy will be done;

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses,

as we forgive those who trespass against us.

The Priest says:

Please keep your head bowed for a blessing. At the distribution the

administrant says to each communicant:

Post Communion Prayer

ALL: Almighty God,

We thank thee for feeding us

With the Body and Blood of thy Son

Jesus Christ our Lord.

Through him we offer thee our souls and bodies

To be a living sacrifice.

Send us out

In the power of thy Spirit

To live and work to thy praise and glory. Amen.

THE BLESSING:
