CONFIRMATION
WITHIN THE EUCHARIST
The parishes of
St Kyneburgha of Castor
St Michael and All Angels Sutton
St John the Baptist Upton
The Blessed Virgin Mary at Marholm
Be thou my
vision, O Lord of my heart,
be all else but naught to me, save that thou art;
be thou my best thought in the day and the night,
both waking and sleeping, thy presence my light.
Be thou my wisdom, be thou my true word,
be thou ever with me, and I with thee, Lord;
be thou my great Father, and I thy true son;
be thou in me dwelling, and I with thee one.
Be thou my breastplate, my sword for the fight;
be thou my whole armour, be thou my true might;
be thou my soul's shelter, be thou my strong tower:
O raise thou me heavenward, great Power of my power.
Riches I heed not, nor man's empty praise:
be thou mine inheritance now and always;
be thou and thou only the first in my heart:
O sovereign of heaven, my treasure thou art.
High King of heaven, thou heaven's bright sun,
O grant me its joys after vict'ry is won;
great heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
still be thou my vision, O ruler of all.
Bishop:
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
ALL: Amen
The bishop greets the people
Alleluia! Christ is risen!
He is risen indeed.
Alleluia!
There is one body and one spirit.
There is one hope to
which we are called;
one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
one God and Father of all.
Peace be with you,
And also with you.
STAND TO SING the Gloria in Excelsis
Glory to God in the highest,
And peace to his people on earth.
Lord God, heavenly King,
Almighty God and Father,
We worship you, we give you thanks,
We praise you for your glory.
Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father,
Lord God, Lamb of God,
You take away the sin of the world,
Have mercy on us;
You are seated at the right hand of the Father:
Receive our prayer.
For you alone are the Holy One;
You alone are the Lord;
You alone are the Most High,
Jesus Christ,
With the Holy Spirit
In the glory of God the Father. Amen.
Remain STANDING for the
Collect.
Bishop: Let us pray
Heavenly Father,
By the power of your Holy Spirit
you give to your faithful people new life in the
water of baptism.
Guide and strengthen us by the same Spirit,
that we who are born again may serve you in faith
and love,
and grow into the full stature of your Son, Jesus
Christ,
who is alive and reigns with you in the unity of the
Holy Spirit
now and for ever. Amen.
At the end the
Reader says:
This is the Word of the Lord.
STAND TO SING
the Gradual HYMN
We turn to
face the Gospel.
O thou who camest from above,
the pure celestial fire to impart,
kindle a flame of sacred love
on the mean altar of my heart.
There let it for thy glory burn
with inextinguishable blaze,
and trembling to its source return
in humble prayer, and fervent praise.
Jesus, confirm my heart's desire
to work, and speak, and think for thee;
still let me guard the holy fire,
and still stir up thy gift in me.
Ready for all thy perfect will,
my acts of faith and love repeat,
till death thy endless mercies seal,
and make my sacrifice complete.
The Gospel is announced: ( Remain Standing)
At the end of the Gospel the reader says:
This is the Gospel of Christ

SING the
Offertory HYMN
During the
Offertory Hymn the collection is taken.
The wine,
bread and collection are taken to the altar
by members of
the congregation.
The Altar is
prepared for Communion
Alleluia! Sing to Jesus!
His the sceptre, his the throne;
alleluia! His the triumph,
his the victory alone:
hark! The songs of peaceful Sion
thunder like a mighty flood;
Jesus out of every nation
hath redeemed us by his blood.
Alleluia! Not as orphans
are we left in sorrow now;
alleluia! He is near us,
faith believes, nor questions how:
though the cloud from sight received him,
when the forty days were o'er,
shall our hearts forget his promise,
"I am with you evermore"?
Alleluia! Bread of angels,
thou on earth our food, our stay;
alleluia! Here the sinful
flee to thee from day to day:
intercessor, friend of sinners,
earth's Redeemer, plead for me,
where the songs of all the sinless
sweep across the crystal sea.
Alleluia! King eternal,
thee the Lord of Lords we own;
alleluia! Born of Mary,
earth thy footstool, heaven thy throne:
thou within the veil hast entered,
robed in flesh, our great high priest;
thou on earth both priest and victim
in the Eucharistic feast.
THE EUCHARISTIC PRAYER (Prayer of Thanksgiving)
Priest: The
Lord be with you.
ALL: And
with thy spirit.

is meet and right so to do.

And

We laud and magnify thy glorious name

Lord
Hossanna in the highest.

Father,
Now and forever.

WE MAY SING
the Benedictus .
Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord
Hossanna in the highest.
WE ALL SAY The
Lord’s Prayer:
Priest: As
our Saviour taught us, so we pray.
ALL: Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be
thy name;
thy kingdom
come;
thy will be
done;
on earth as it
is in heaven.
Give us this
day our daily bread.
And forgive us
our trespasses,
as we forgive
those who trespass against us.
And lead us
not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is
the kingdom, the power and the glory,
for ever and
ever. Amen.
Priest: We
break this bread to share in the Body of Christ.
ALL: Though we are many, we are one body,
because we all share in the one
bread.
WE ALL SING the Agnus Dei:
O Lamb of God,
That takest away the sins of the world,
Have mercy upon us.
O Lamb of God ,
That takest away the sins of the world,
Have mercy upon us.
O Lamb of God,
That takest away the sins of the world
Grant us thy peace.
THE COMMUNION
The Priest says:
Draw near with faith
Receive the Body of our Lord Jesus
Christ,
Which was given for you,
And his Blood which was shed for you.
Eat and drink in remembrance that he
died for you,
And feed on him in your hearts
With thanksgiving.
Sometimes, the priest may say:
Behold the Lamb of God that takest away the sins of
the world,
Happy are those that are called to his supper:
ALL : Lord I am not worthy to receive
thee,
But only say
the word and I shall be healed
Instead in Eastertide may be said:
Priest: Alleluia!
Christ our passover is sacrificed for us.
Everyone is invited to the Altar. If you will not be receiving communion,
Please keep your head bowed for a blessing. At the distribution the
administrant says to each communicant:
The Body of Christ
The Blood of Christ
We reply each time: Amen and then receive.
During Communion WE MAY SING a Hymn. (Sometimes the Choir only)
God be in my head,
and in my understanding;
God be in my eyes,
and in my looking;
God be in my mouth,
and in my speaking;
God be in my heart,
and in my thinking;
God be at my end,
and at my departing.
Alleluya! Alleluya! Alleluya!
The strife is o'er, the battle done;
now is the victor's triumph won;
O let the song of praise be sung.
Alleluya!
Death's mightiest powers have done their worst,
and Jesus hath his foes dispersed;
let shouts of praise and joy outburst.
Alleluya!
On the third morn he rose again
glorious in majesty to reign;
O let us swell the joyful strain.
Alleluya!
He brake the age-bound chains of hell;
the bars from heaven's high portals fell;
let hymns of praise his triumph tell.
Alleluya!
Lord, by the stripes which wounded thee
from death's dread sting thy servants free,
that we may live, and sing to thee.
Alleluya!
After
Communion the Priest may say a prayer.
Post Communion Prayer
ALL: Almighty God,
We thank thee
for feeding us
With the Body
and Blood of thy Son
Jesus Christ
our Lord.
Through him we
offer thee our souls and bodies
To be a living
sacrifice.
Send us out
In the power
of thy Spirit
To live and
work to thy praise and glory. Amen.
WE STAND TO
SING The Recessional Hymn.
Thine be the glory, risen, conquering Son,
endless is the victory thou o'er death hast won;
angels in bright raiment rolled the stone away,
kept the folded grave-clothes where thy body lay.
Thine be the glory, risen, conquering
Son,
endless is the victory thou o'er death hast won.
Lo, Jesus meets us, risen from the tomb;
lovingly he greets us, scatters fear and gloom;
let the church with gladness hymns of triumph sing,
for her Lord now liveth, death hath lost its sting:
No more we doubt thee, glorious prince of life;
life is nought without thee: aid us in our strife;
make us more than conquerors through thy deathless love;
bring us safe through Jordan to thy home above:
Priest: The Mass is ended. Go in peace to love and
serve the Lord.
ALL: In the
name of Christ. Amen.
